| Elros was explored and subsequently claimed by the Tortuga Republic in 3089. The high temperatures limited possible colonization to cooler sub-polar regions and initial settlements have been established on the relatively temperate southern continent. The primary focus of the intial colonization efforts are centered on prospecting for mineral and chemical resourses that can be developed. Progress reports indicate sources of mineral wealth could be substantial and exploration is being expanded. |
